UPDATES
SOUTH WALNUT STREET UPDATE - 11/13/18
Thank you for your continued prayers and concern on behalf of those who have been impacted by the Paradise Camp Fire, as well those who are serving to support and care for the fire victims and evacuees.
The evacuation centers at the Chico East Ave. and Oroville Nazarene Churches are still at capacity, with approximately 700 evacuees combined being served. Donations of labor and various resources are still needed but should be confirmed directly with each site before sending or delivering (see above).
FAMILY & BUILDING UPDATE
It is now confirmed that Paradise Pastor Lloyd Tremain's home in Magalia (north of Paradise) was destroyed. Pastor Lloyd and his family are currently residing with family in Sacramento. According to Pastor Lloyd, other than one family member of his, it appears that all those in the Paradise Church congregation have lost their homes.
Based on very rough footage of a YouTube video, the front of the main building of the Paradise Church is still standing, but the condition of the back side or interior of the main building is unknown at this time. It has been confirmed that the second building of the church which houses the youth center and compassionate ministry has been destroyed by the fire.
FINALLY:
We are grateful that because of the generosity and labor of so many local churches, that over 1,200 Crisis Care Kits have been delivered to the two evacuation centers listed above. Crisis Care Kits contain personal hygiene items for the immediate needs of those in the evacuation centers.
Rev. Steve Scott, District Superintendent
